About Us

Kailumea (pronounced) "Ky lu mia" which means "ocean brilliance" is an Australian jewellery business that was created from a need for jewellery that could withstand the ocean’s demands while we surfed. Pieces that were not only beautiful but also durable.

Jewellery that wouldn't tarnish or turn your skin green, that could endure hours of being tossed around in the waves and give you that added touch of sparkle on days where you feel more like a drowned rat than an ocean goddess. It also had to be suitable for sensitive skin and free from harmful materials like nickel and lead.

The challenge was set, and here we are. We're thrilled to share our stunning collection with all the wonderful women who, like us, cherish the ocean and value beautiful, high-quality ocean-safe jewelry.

Hi, I'm Nicole, and that's me second from the right with my daughter and my close friends I surf with everyday.

If you’ve found your way here, it means you’ve also been looking for beautiful jewellery that you can wear both in the ocean and every day without needing to take it off.

Though I haven’t always been a surfer, my love for the ocean has been constant. It wasn’t until I experienced the daily wear and tear of our ocean adventures that I realized my need for durable, ocean-safe jewellery.

Talking with other women who were out in the waves, it became clear that we were all looking for the same thing.
